![]() I'm shot in the streets.... dead I'm ridiculed in shops... oppressed by my appearance I'm body shamed on the daily for my curves and forms of bodily expression I get told that i'm an ANgRY BlacK WOmaN that doesn't deserve to be in this world I yell... I'm mad I cry... I'm emotional I express my opinion... and I'm uneducated These perceptions shall not define me and who I am as a woman of color
These perceptions that you've BESTOWED upon me shall not change who I am on the inside I will NEVER let you define me as a person, or as an individual ever again! My voice is to be heard My opinions towards others are in fact relevant to the basis of today's society White-washed narratives can't be the framework for today's new vision of history! My ancestors didn't endure unbearable amounts of pain just so you could sit on your high horse and diminish their power I AM BLACK I AM A WOMAN OF COLOR and no narrative will ever change that, nor shall it I want all of my sisters to stand together in a new era of support and compassion for one another The world is too dark, too evil, and too malicious for us to bow down to its new description of livelihood. "Stand with me in the land of the free," and respect one another please
